Hello crafters!
I have decided to start a new series of posts called Quick Craft Tips! While crafting I always tend to find obstacles which I have to figure out how to get past. I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one trying to figure out tips, easier ways to craft, or how to get past hard parts of working with some materials. So in these series of posts I will be showing some quick, easy, cheap, and simple craft tips. Well, it's now time to go onto the main part of this post!
When creating items out of polymer clay or air dry clay it can be very tricky when trying to texture your creation. Many crafters are known to use special tools such as needles, razor blades, etc. Whenever I first started using clay I was trying to find anything that would texture the clay.
Two of my favorite & most useful texturing tools are paint brushes and toothpicks. A paint brush seems a bit unusual though right? Well, a few months ago I figured out after I finished painting another craft, a dried paintbrush works really good for texturing. Each time after painting or spreading glue on a creation the paint brush hardens a bit different so it works pretty well for the texture. I also love toothpicks as texturing tools since they are great for flaking breads or cakes, and adding holes into crafts! Toothpicks also work pretty well for sticks on items like corn dogs or to help make the base of a creation stronger.
Well I hope you enjoyed these tips! Check back soon for another post:)
